Never Give Up!
I’m hearing from others that the establishment in my area is now awake. They are now aware that a Constitutional Conservative is on the verge of taking on one of the most moderate Republicans in the state house. So what are they afraid of?
Volunteers Needed!
If you live in the Spartanburg area, I need your help during the next few days. I’m short of volunteers and the only way I’m going to get on the ballot to run against Eddie Tallon in the general election is to get a lot more participation in my petition drive.
If you are wondering what it is like to petition, I will tell you that it is fairly easy right now. The weather has cooled down and most people understand that there are a large number of Republican Petition Candidates this year. People also sign the petition very easily after seeing that Eddie is the worst ranked Upstate representative on the Greenville Tea Party scorecard (http://www.greenvilleteaparty.com/images/stories/generic_SCORECARD_041912.pdf). If you look at page 2 of the scorecard, you will see Senator Bright received a perfect score from the Greenville Tea Party. We all know that our representatives need to start voting more like Senator Bright and I’m here to replace one of the worst voters in the House.

What Are We Fighting For?
Now that I am just days into one of the most difficult tasks of my life, I am reflecting upon why I entered this race for House District 33 in the first place. After walking door to door with volunteers, many of us have experienced the ups and downs of hearing an enthusiastic “Yes!” and then right away at the next house hearing a flat-out “No!”.
The emotional toll that this takes is not for the weak and timid, it is for the strong and brave. I think that we can all admit that walking door-to-door to discuss politics with strangers while trying to convince them to sign a petition for a man that many have never met before is no easy task. So why do they do it?
They do it because they know that they would rather have freedom than unnecessary government safety. They do it because they would rather know that they actually did their best to help stop government intrusion so that they can have the peace of mind that they did all that they could. They do it because they still believe in America and the principles that it was founded on. They do it because they understand consequences of socialism and too much government power. They do it because they believe they know the answer to our economic problems. They do it for you, they do it for me, and they do it for the dream of reviving America so that it can once again be the beacon of freedom and prosperity in the world.

Why I’m Running for State Representative
I had not planned to run for any position this election year but a few things have happened that have helped remind me of my duty to God and my country. As you may have already guessed, I’m an Eagle Scout. In the scout oath, we declare that we will do our best to do our duty to God and our country and that is an oath that is supposed to be kept even after gaining the rank of Eagle Scout. Unfortunately, not every Eagle Scout takes their scout oath seriously and, as we are finding out more and more, not every politician takes their oath of office seriously either. Obeying an oath is an integral part to person’s character and too many times people don’t feel the need to carry on with the oaths they make, even when their oaths are to God.
After discovering the voting record of Representative Eddie Tallon, I can easily see that he is not taking his oath very seriously. His oath requires him to not only obey the state constitution, but to obey the United States Constitution as well. His voting record proves that he is either unaware of what is meant by his oath to office or he does not care very much about the oath that he has made to the people of South Carolina. Many of you reading this are not familiar with me so I will do my best to give you a brief overview of myself. I have a strong enthusiasm for limited government that focuses on all aspects of liberty, social and economic. I believe that the founders of the country were right when they declared that they held several truths to be self-evident, that all men were created equal and that they were endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights; which include life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I believe that our current government system is under siege by socialists that work within the borders of our country. The socialists are willing to do whatever they can to tear our nation and states down by the use of tyranny. Although not all politicians are engaged in promoting these acts of tyranny, very few seem to have a backbone to stand-up for the rights of Americans.
We are engaged in a war of ideas and I believe my purpose is to help spread the idea of liberty in order to drive the idea of tyranny into retreat. Therefore, my first goal is to drive the idea of tyranny into retreat in South Carolina District 33.
In order to enter the race at this time I must run as a petition candidate and collect over 1,000 signatures by the state petition candidate deadline of July, 16th.
